So after my first quarter giggles, I was introduced to Miss EL James and spent a week inside her creepy, impossible sexland. I had toyed with the idea of writing a romance novel but after reading hers I was put-off and discouraged. Not only did her books totally kill my imagination ego (I just couldn’t have thought to write porn based off Twilight fan fiction), her enormous success will ruin anyone else’s chance to make it as a sexual book writer.

Once I rinsed off the filth, I read Gone Girl and then the next few months were a blur of dark mysteries and ended with some mid-century working gal books to quietly celebrate the life of Nora Ephron.
