I want to give you a suggestion regarding your wedding cake–there’s a solution that I think you will like. Have someone make you a dummy cake. One layer of the cake will be real, so you can do the traditional feed the bride/groom thing. Have a sheet cake in the back to slice up for the guests, and have some cupcakes, too. Guests do expect wedding cake and might leave early if you don’t have it.
Just my 2 cents worth.
(I love cake though.)

thats a great idea- there was some panicked backlash among our family members, so i think we have to have some cake. a concession im happy to make
